Before you sign
Scottish powers of attorney require a certificate signed by a solicitor practising in Scotland or a UK-registered medical practitioner confirming you understand what you are signing, then registration with the Office of the Public Guardian (Scotland).
If capacity is disputed, the appointment is complex, or property crosses jurisdictions, get advice from a qualified lawyer or notary where appropriate.
After it is properly completed
Keep the registered document secure and make sure your attorney knows where to find it and how to confirm their authority with banks and other institutions.
You can then record its location and the responsible contacts in BeforeHand. Uploading a file does not make it legally valid or replace delivery, registration, witnessing, or notarization required elsewhere.
