Editorial policy
Helpful information should show its work.
Our guides organize complicated questions into practical next steps while keeping legal, medical, tax, and financial decisions with the qualified people responsible for them.
Who creates the guides
The BeforeHand Editorial Team develops content from the product's family-continuity workflows, institution research, and publicly available primary sources. We do not represent the material as individualized professional advice.
How we choose sources
We prioritize government agencies, courts, legislation, regulators, and the official support or estate-services pages of the institution being discussed. Secondary sources may help identify questions, but important procedural claims should point back to a primary source whenever one is available.
How we handle jurisdiction differences
Authority, incapacity, probate, privacy, and document rules vary by country, state, province, institution, and the wording of an executed document. General guides identify those boundaries instead of presenting one rule as universal.
Review and corrections
Every guide displays a review date and source list. Institution procedures should be rechecked regularly because contact channels, required documents, and provider features change. Readers can report a correction through the Contact page.
Product boundaries
BeforeHand organizes information, responsibilities, and workflow. It does not create legal authority, determine capacity, bypass institutional review, or replace a lawyer, accountant, financial advisor, health professional, court, or government agency.
