About BeforeHand

We are building the bridge between knowing and needing to know.

Families rarely lack care. They lack one clear, usable place for the information and instructions that become urgent when someone can no longer manage their own life.

Our reason

It usually begins with an ordinary phone call.

A parent has had a stroke. A diagnosis changes what they can manage. A sudden loss leaves an adult child trying to find documents, accounts, and the people who can help.

The information may exist, but it is split between a filing cabinet, an inbox, a lawyer's office, and one person's memory. BeforeHand exists to close that gap before a family is already in crisis.

Our principles

Calm, honest, and built around consent.

People over paperwork

Documents matter because people need to use them. Every account task should have a clear owner, a clear requirement, and a visible next step.

Preparation over panic

The best time to set up Apple Legacy Contact, Google Inactive Account Manager, review beneficiaries, or name trusted people is before the emergency.

Honesty over automation theater

An automatic notice is not the same as a closed account. Probate, capacity, and institution review involve real legal authority, so BeforeHand waits for confirmation instead of showing a false completion.

Access with purpose

The owner decides who sees what and who can act. Being a spouse or adult child does not automatically create executor, power of attorney, or account authority.

Start before it is urgent

Make the hard conversation easier to begin.
