  5. Track restrictions, distributions, transfers, tax questions, and final confirmation separately.

What to arrange in advance

Keep beneficiaries and transfer-on-death designations current where available, coordinate them with the broader estate plan, and record the institution and advisor contacts. A financial power of attorney for incapacity is a separate process and generally ends at death.
